The teeth whitening procedure begins with total isolation of your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. A PH booster is applied to the teeth followed by the Zoom gel. The gel is activated using the Whitespeed lamp helping to penetrate the enamel and gently bleaches away staining and discolouration. During the whitening process you can relax, listen to music or watch TV. After 4 x 15 minute sessions you will see an instantly whiter smile several shades lighter. Following your insurgery whitening you will be given a take home kit containing custom made whitening trays and Zoom NiteWhite mint flavoured gel. This system is designed to be worn whilst you sleep for ultimate performance and maximum convenience.to continue your whitening at home and must be used for ultimate whitening results and to avoid fade back.
This option has the benefit of the quick start of the in surgery Zoom WhiteSpeed System but continues at home at your leisure. It also has the benefit of being able to top up your whitening treatment in the future, by purchasing additional whitening gels.
A photographic record is taken at the start and end of treatment to measure your tooth shade and if necessary additional gels can be purchased for heavily stained or dark teeth.
There are two factors which influence the colour of teeth:-
Teeth whitening is much like tanning, where different skins types tan at different rates. With teeth whitening some people will whiten more quickly than others and it will also depend on the starting shade. Teeth whitening will also not lighten the colour of fillings, crowns or bridges therefore treatment does need to be planned carefully. We also need to ensure your mouth is healthy before treatment can be started.
An alternative lower cost option is too simply whiten at home under our prescription using Zoom NiteWhite.
This is a very effective option however the results take longer to achieve. Impressions are taken of your teeth so that our specialist laboratory can make custom home trays. A photographic record and your shade is measured. You will then be shown how to carry out whitening treatment at home.
Your home whitening kit includes 3 syringes of mint flavoured whitening gel. The whitening trays are worn overnight, while you sleep for ultimate performance and maximum convenience. In only 7-9 nights, you can achieve significant whitening results.
- At the end of treatment your tooth shade will be remeasured.
- Further whitening gels can be purchased on prescription if required.
