Robert joined the Royal Navy in 1973 spending a year at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth and a year at sea as a Midshipman on HMS Antrim, a destroyer. In 1975 he left the Navy to study dentistry at Guys Hospital, London, where he studied Zoology for one year as part of a Dental Degree and graduated as Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1981.

In 1984 he set up Gentle Dentistry in order to provide only the highest quality of care without compromise. Robert is interested in all aspects of modern dentistry and stays at the leading edge by regularly updating training with some of the world’s renowned dentists.

He is particularly interested in the treatment of head, neck and shoulder pain (TMJ Syndrome) and cosmetic dentistry including teeth whitening and lifelike full and partial dentures.

Robert was one of the first dentists in Britain to become mercury free in 1991. His hobbies include yacht racing and music. One day he would like to sail off into the sunset.
