Dear Gentle Dentistry
I have thanked you all verbally for my lovely new smile but really I feel that is not enough, hence the reason for this email. I had hated my teeth for years, the NHS dentists were unable to help me, so I searched around for a good private/cosmetic dentist that I felt I could trust. I had nothing to go by, just lists of names and numbers in a phone book.
I looked on the internet and found your website, the words Gentle Dentistry certainly appealed and your advertising came across as really professional and very ‘up together’ as they say. My decision made, I arranged an appointment, as you know for a consultation with Mr Dobson. I knew instantly that I had made the right choice.
I want you all to know that I have never been treated so well or shown so much respect and care from a dental practice before, from the always cheerful reception from Sam to the excellent care shown by Mr Dobson and the skill and expertise of Mr Daniel Cattell who worked so hard to give me the best smile. Every procedure was discussed, step by step, I knew exactly what to expect and exactly what was going to happen throughout the whole of my treatment. I have also had the best advice from you about caring for my teeth and gums ever. I really can’t praise you all enough. I am so pleased with the results of your work and care and thank you all again, not just for the above but also for giving me the confidence to smile in photographs, something I always avoided.
I thought I'd write this to spare your blushes! On my last two visits to the surgery, I have chatted to other patients in the waiting room and been struck by their open admiration of the quality of treatment they have received from you. Both gentlemen offered the opinion that you were the best dentist they had ever had, one went so far to say that he looked forward to coming to the practice, needless to say I feel the same way.
I've been coming to Gentle Dentistry for over 20 years now and you know how extensive my treatment has been, including both implants and crowns. Apart from the extremely high quality of the treatment, I think that the total commitment of everyone in the practice, to ensure that the patient is comfortable, is outstanding. I would also like to put on record how much I appreciate the kindness, understanding and good humour you have shown towards me - not your easiest patient, I'm sure!

Dear Dr Cattell
I am writing to express my appreciation of your skills in renewing my damaged Dental Bridge.
I was somewhat apprehensive when we discussed the details of your proposal to place an implant into my jaw bone to take the new bridge. I was anticipating an unpleasant and painful experience. However, my fears were totally groundless!
The finished article is a credit to your skills, needless to say I am extremely pleased with the results obtained. My sincere thanks to you and your back up team.
A patient’s reviews on TMJ problems and treatment……………
I am 61, and since my early 20’s my headaches have gradually worsened. During that time nose spur bones have been removed, wisdom teeth extracted and ear, nose and throat explored – all to no effect. Headaches were a part of my life to be tolerated with painkillers always available. Eventually, bad headaches, back, neck and shoulder pain became the norm. My dentist at the time felt it could be my ears. I returned to ENT and then a referral to a maxillofacial consultant who took x-rays, suggested exercises and eating soft food. He diagnosed (temporomandibular joint disorder) and suggested I go to a dentist for a bite raising appliance.
I looked up TMJ on the net, to find out more, and then saw an advert from Robert Dobson of Gentle Dentistry. All my symptoms were listed – it was such a relief to see recognition and understanding of my problem.
Mr Dobson assessed my bite and confirmed and explained the diagnosis. The treatment was initially to wear a small “jig” for three weeks – an introduction to an Aspen Appliance which relaxes the jaw. This I wore for eight months with adjustments at prescribed intervals. None of my friends realised I was wearing it and I got used to it very quickly.
Gradually I was experiencing pain free days! I kept a “pain diary”. To wake up without pain was fantastic and, because I took Mr Dobson’s advice to see a gentle spine manipulator, my back was also improving. When the pain diary had “clear” over many days, my teeth were equilibrated which meant I no longer needed to wear my bite appliance.
No more headaches, shoulder pain and tightness or a stiff neck – only more energy, better concentration and a clear head. Throughout this painless treatment Mr Dobson has explained every step of the way.
I would never have believed that bite correction treatment could have such a positive effect. I feel a different person with a dramatically improved quality of life.

Following a bad experience as a teenager and then another a few years later, apart from the occasional emergency dental treatment, I had not visited a dentist for thirty years. Then a broken front tooth forced my hand. I had passed Gentle Dentistry many times but something made me walk in one day and make an appointment.
I’m so glad I did – from the moment I first walked in the door I couldn’t have asked for better care. I could sense the calm atmosphere immediately and Dr Dobson and his excellent team at Gentle Dentistry certainly allayed my fears of dentists and eased my anxiety. A visit to the dentist now feels more like a visit to friends!
The only thing I regret is I didn’t go them sooner.

Dear Dr Cattell ,
I am really delighted with the work you did to rescue my upper left tooth. It started as an emergency visit and finished as a calm and comfortable procedure. I had never experienced any form of root canal treatment before and was apprehensive, to say the least, when you told me that it would be a necessary part of the preparation for a crown fitting. I can honestly say that, although the root canal work was lengthy, I suffered absolutely no discomfort. This is significant since I am not a brave dental patient!
The impression-taking and subsequent crown fitting procedures were meticulous and led to a very comfortable and total repair. I now have a restored tooth which I use confidently and which matches my existing tooth colouring.
Overall, this was a highly professional piece of work at a level I have come to expect from both you and Dr Dobson. The practice is reassuring across the board from reception to hygienists and dental nursing.

I wish to state that both my wife and I unreservedly commend you for your outstanding skill in dentistry, most particularly in dealing with our dental problems over a long period.
We would recommend you without hesitation to anyone needing dental attention, however complicated it may be.
